Gas Supply Rises After PM’s Assurance, Says Mahdi Amin
Following the Prime Minister’s recent assurance to top business leaders and media representatives, the gas supply across Bangladesh has officially seen a significant increase, claimed Dr. Mahdi Amin, Advisor to the PM and PMO Spokesperson. Speaking at a press conference held at the PMO’s ‘Karabi’ hall in Tejgaon, Dhaka, Dr. Mahdi Amin highlighted that this step was taken to ensure that industrial factories resume full operation and the country’s overall economic progress continues moving forward. He added that the PM pledged to take maximum measures based on reality to overcome the energy crisis and restore normalcy as quickly as possible.
Highlighting the immediate impact of executive interventions, Dr. Mahdi Amin stated, ‘We have seen that the PM’s assurance began taking effect yesterday in a very short span of time, with gas supply increasing significantly.’ He further emphasized, ‘The visible progress we have seen in gas supply will continue its positive trend in the coming days.’ The spokesperson noted that these multifaceted welfare initiatives executed over the past month represent a broader commitment to building a prosperous, merit-based state while earning national and international praise for transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.
Beyond the energy sector, the spokesperson underscored significant macroeconomic achievements and education reforms that reinforce national stability. Bangladesh has gained international recognition as a stable destination for foreign investment, backed by positive shifts in inflation, decreased prices for essential commodities, and regionally low diesel costs. To support future growth, technical education has been made compulsory up to class six, rooftop gardening initiatives have been launched in all educational institutions, and plans are moving forward to establish a specialized public university in Cox’s Bazar dedicated to blue economy research.
The government has also implemented a revised pay scale for public financial benefits ranging from BDT 20,000 to BDT 156,000 alongside enacting new property inheritance legislation. Looking ahead, a midday meal program for Qawmi and Alia madrasa students is scheduled for rollout between 2027 and 2031 to meet essential nutritional needs. Additionally, key administrative and logistical projects are actively progressing across the country, including the deployment of government veterinarians in every union and the ongoing relocation of the Karwan Bazar wholesale market to Gabtoli.
