State Support for Martyr Families to Continue, Assures President

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has assured that maximum state support will continue for the overall welfare of the families of martyrs and the proper treatment and rehabilitation of those injured during the July Mass Uprising. He stated that the nation will never forget the supreme sacrifices of those who laid down their lives and suffered injuries in the struggle to free the country from fascism.

The President gave this assurance on Sunday (September 20) during a courtesy meeting at Bangabhaban with the family members of Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho, a martyr of the July Mass Uprising. Mugdho’s father Mir Mostafizur Rahman, brother Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho, and family member Mahfuza Jafrin Ariba were present at the meeting. During the interaction, the President inquired about the family members and exchanged pleasantries.

During the meeting, Mugdho’s family members briefed the President on the various measures taken by the government for the welfare, rehabilitation, and treatment of the families of martyrs and the injured. They also requested the President to ensure the proper implementation of the government’s initiatives for the welfare of the affected families.

On this occasion, the family members presented the President with a replica of the July Martyr Monument, which features the names of 845 martyrs published in the gazette notification. President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep respect and gratitude to the martyrs and those injured in the July 2024 Mass Uprising. He reiterated that the nation will never forget the sacrifices of those who lost their lives or were wounded in the movement to liberate the country from fascism. The President prayed for the forgiveness and eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyrs. Senior officials concerned with Bangabhaban were present during the meeting.
