Order Issued to Strengthen Security at Power Stations Nationwide

The government has directed all authorities to tighten overall security at every power station in the country. This instruction comes from the record of discussions of a Core Committee meeting held at the Home Ministry. The directive covers all power plants across Bangladesh without exception.

On September 17, Security Branch 2 of the Public Security Division under the Home Ministry sent letters to the concerned officials about this matter. Following that instruction, on September 23, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police headquarters also sent letters to its own relevant officers to help implement the order.

The Home Ministry’s letter referred to a Core Committee meeting held on August 26. Based on that meeting’s discussions, it said all power stations across the country must take the necessary steps to strengthen their overall security systems. The letter asked concerned officials to act on this instruction.

Following this, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police headquarters sent its own letter asking relevant officers to take action based on the Home Ministry’s order. The DMP letter repeated the same core message, stating that per the Core Committee’s discussion record, every power station nationwide needs stronger security measures.

Copies of the Home Ministry’s letter were also sent to the Cabinet Secretary, the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, the Secretary of the Public Security Division, the relevant branch within the Home Ministry, and the concerned police officials.
