Taskin Returns as Litton Makes Bangladesh Squad for West Indies Series

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the first Test against the West Indies, recalling Litton Das, who missed the recent tri-nation series due to injury, and fast bowler Taskin Ahmed, who was rested in the last Test match.
Soumya Sarkar and Khaled Ahmed have both been dropped from the squad announced on Friday morning without featuring in a single match. The 33-year-old left-handed batter Soumya last played a Test in 2021 against the West Indies in Mirpur, while pacer Khaled last represented the country against Zimbabwe in Harare in June.
Litton Das had been ruled out of the tri-nation series due to a hip injury, and Bangladesh suffered an early exit in his absence against Zimbabwe and Afghanistan. Securing victories in both matches of this series is vital for Bangladesh to maintain momentum in the ICC World Test Championship. The two-match series will get underway next Wednesday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
