Iran confirms Vance’s letter, but what is its response to the US proposal?

Iranian state and semi-official media have confirmed the authenticity of a letter sent by US Vice President JD Vance. However, Tehran has said it has not yet responded to the letter from the senior US leader.
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that Vance had sent a letter to Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. However, Tehran has not yet issued an official response.
In its report, Tasnim said, “Iran has made it clear that any negotiations or relations with the United States must meet Tehran’s seven conditions. Any position or proposal that undermines the firm and clear framework set by Iran will never be acceptable to Tehran.”
Earlier, US media reported that Vance had written to Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei as a last-ditch effort to resume peace talks and ease tensions.
However, US President Donald Trump acknowledged communications between Vance and Iranian officials but largely sidestepped claims of peace negotiations. Trump said the exchange of messages between Vance and Iranian officials was mainly related to the delivery of medical supplies. He did not provide further details.
