Inu’s 10-Year Prison Sentence: Full Verdict Published

A full 500-page verdict sentencing Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) President Mr. Hasanul Haq Inu to 10 years in prison has been published by the International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2). The judgment, which pertains to eight counts of crimes against humanity, including the murder of six individuals during the July Mass Uprising, outlines the charges, presented evidence, judicial analysis, and rationale behind the sentencing.

The verdict was officially published on Sunday, September 20, following the signatures of the judicial panel led by Justice Mr. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Chairman of ICT-2, completing the formal process of releasing the full judgment in Inu’s case.

According to the case proceedings, eight charges of crimes against humanity were brought against Mr. Hasanul Haq Inu regarding events that occurred in Kushtia during the July-August mass uprising of 2024, including the killings of six people. Following the conclusion of judicial proceedings, ICT-2 sentenced Inu to 10 years in prison alongside a fine. The comprehensive judgment was released after its formal preparation and execution by the panel of judges.

Mr. Hasanul Haq Inu serves as the president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) and previously held the portfolio of Information Minister during the Awami League-led government. The charges against him relating to crimes against humanity during the July Mass Uprising were tried before the International Crimes Tribunal.
