Mamata Arrives in Delhi for INDIA Bloc Meeting Over ‘Vanish Kumar’ Issue
Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived in Delhi on Tuesday (September 29) to attend a meeting of India’s opposition INDIA bloc. All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) president Mamata Banerjee was accompanied by party MPs Dola Sen and Kalyan Banerjee.
Speaking to reporters, Mamata Banerjee said, “There is a meeting of the INDIA bloc. We have come to attend it.” She said their main target is the Chief Election Commissioner and his entire software team, whom she accused of cheating and betraying ordinary people. The Trinamool chief also said that she refers to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar as “Vanish Kumar.”
Recently, CPI(M) General Secretary M. A. Baby contacted Mamata Banerjee to build unity among opposition parties over the special intensive revision of the voter list and the role of India’s Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Mamata has also spoken with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. At a public meeting, Mamata made it clear that she was ready to join hands with any party over the issue concerning the Chief Election Commissioner.
Meanwhile, taking a dig at the former chief minister, state BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari alleged that Mamata Banerjee was holding a meeting in Delhi with “Dimaagi Naxals.”
Speaking to reporters in Kolkata, Suvendu Adhikari said, “The existence of the INDIA bloc has ended. She has gone there to hold a planning meeting with Dimaagi Naxals. I will ask the Delhi Police and the Central IB to keep a watch. Everyone knows what a person who raises slogans of ‘Azadi’ can do. It needs to be monitored whether she is meeting with anti-India forces. She is now an adviser to the Dimaagi Naxals.”
At the same time, Mr. Suvendu, whom he described as the product of Gyanesh Kumar’s voter scam, strongly criticised the growing proximity between the two long-time rival parties, CPI(M) and Trinamool.
