Ministry Announces October Fuel Prices

The government has set fuel prices for October. According to the announcement, fuel prices in the domestic market will remain unchanged in October. Diesel, octane, petrol and kerosene will be sold at the prices set in September from October 1.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Division issued a notification to this effect on Wednesday (September 30).
According to the notification, diesel will be sold to consumers at Tk 135 per litre, octane at Tk 165, petrol at Tk 160 and kerosene at Tk 155. With the approval of the appropriate authority, these prices have been kept unchanged for October 2026. As a result, the latest prices will remain in effect from October 1.
The notification, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division Md Enamul Haque, said, “With reference to the above subject and reference, it is hereby informed that the retail prices of diesel, octane, petrol and kerosene were fixed at Tk 135.00, Tk 165.00, Tk 160.00 and Tk 155.00 per litre, respectively, under the notification issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division on September 20.”
It further said, “With the approval of the appropriate authority, the said prices have been kept unchanged for October 2026. That is, the latest prices will remain effective from October 1, 2026.”
Earlier, the prices of all types of fuel in the domestic market were increased by Tk 20 per litre on September 20, citing a rise in international fuel prices and freight charges due to the ongoing war in the Middle East.
The new prices were announced in a notification signed by Md Enamul Haque, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, on the same day. Following the increase, diesel was priced at Tk 135 per litre, kerosene at Tk 155, petrol at Tk 160 and octane at Tk 165.
The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources announced the revised prices in a statement on September 20. The same prices will remain in effect throughout October.
