Bright Skies in Nagoya: Bangladesh Ready for Showdown Against Pakistan

After three days of continuous rainfall, the sky in Nagoya finally cleared up with bright sunshine on Wednesday, bringing huge relief to the Bangladesh cricket camp. Litton Das’s team completed a full training session for the first time in four days as they prepared to face Pakistan in the crucial semi-final.
Despite arriving in Japan on Friday, Bangladesh has yet to take to the field in the tournament. Their quarter-final clash against Malaysia was completely washed out due to heavy rain, raising concerns over tomorrow’s high-stakes knockout match. However, the significantly improving weather conditions have restored optimism and excitement among players.
Reflecting on the team’s relief after training at Korogi Sports Park, middle-order batter Yasir Ali Rabbi shared his thoughts on the situation. ‘Look, since arriving here, we couldn’t train properly because of the rain, nor could we play our match,’ Mr. Rabbi said. ‘It feels good to see the weather clear up today. This is the first time I’ve seen the sun here. I hope we get good weather tomorrow as well and look forward to a great match.’
The squad faces a notable challenge as senior batter Najmul Hossain Shanto has been ruled out due to illness. Addressing his absence, Mr. Rabbi added, ‘It is unfortunate that he had to leave. But we have to move forward and deliver with the batting order we have.’ Despite the setback, the team remains focused on adapting and putting up a competitive performance.
To prepare for the upcoming clash, Mr. Rabbi closely inspected the pitch conditions before the training session began. ‘I checked the wicket, and it looks good. Hopefully, we will be playing on a fine surface,’ he noted. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 AM Bangladesh Time on Thursday, while India faces Sri Lanka in the second semi-final at 10:30 AM.
