Bangladesh Embassy opens in Ireland

Bangladesh has officially opened its embassy in Ireland today. The move will create a dedicated platform to strengthen bilateral relations, expand cooperation and engage with around 25,000 Bangladeshis living in the country.
A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued here this evening said the mission has begun its administrative operations from a temporary chancery at Alexandra House in Ballsbridge, Dublin’s diplomatic district.
Designated Ambassador Mohammad Nore Alam assumed charge of the mission today. He is expected to present his credentials to the President of Ireland in due course.
The establishment of the embassy is a significant milestone in Bangladesh-Ireland relations. It will further strengthen diplomatic engagement and cooperation in areas of mutual interest, the statement said.
The mission will also work to deepen engagement with the Bangladeshi community living in Ireland.
Passport, visa and other consular services will be introduced once the necessary preparations are complete. These services will be available to Bangladeshi citizens and other eligible applicants.
The ministry said the date for launching consular services, procedures and other relevant information will be announced through official channels.
The statement also said Bangladesh looks forward to further deepening its friendly and mutually beneficial relations with Ireland through the resident embassy.
