Daily Inqilab Launches Inqilab English Online Edition

The English online edition of Daily Inqilab, one of the country’s leading newspapers, has been officially launched. The newspaper, which has long been delivering news under the slogan “For the Country and the People,” has now begun a new journey of publishing online news in English. The English online edition was officially launched on Sunday at a simple ceremony held at the Daily Inqilab building.

Those present at the launch included Fahima Bahauddin, Online and Multimedia Editor of Daily Inqilab; Executive Editor Nazifa Bahauddin; Director of Administration and Operations Abdul Kader; and Assistant Editor Mehedi Hasan Palash. Journalists, officials and employees of the Online and Multimedia departments were also present at the event.

Online and Multimedia Editor Fahima Bahauddin said, “When we started the online version in 2017, I had already decided that I would launch an English version for those who feel comfortable reading in English. Finally, that wish has come true, a wish that my grandfather also had.”

Executive Editor Nazifa Bahauddin said, “The English version was a dream of our Inqilab family. The English version will play a role for the new generation and will also help us reach new readers. Our readers’ support will take us a long way.”

Assistant Editor Mehedi Hasan Palash said the late founder of Inqilab, Maulana M.A. Mannan (RA), had launched a daily newspaper called Telegraph from the beginning to present the Islamic values, history, culture and patriotism of the people of Bangladesh to the world.

He said Inqilab Editor A.M.M. Bahauddin had also continued to nurture the same vision. “Their wish has now achieved success through the hands of the present new generation. Inqilab will now be able to take its views, philosophy and ideals beyond the borders of Bangladesh to the world,” he said.

The Daily Inqilab authorities expect the English online edition to give readers at home and abroad an opportunity to access the newspaper’s news in English. They also hope the platform will help the newspaper reach a wider international audience. Drawing on its long experience in journalism, the Daily Inqilab aims to regularly publish news on Bangladesh, politics, the economy, society, international affairs and other issues through the new platform.
