Aman Paddy Cultivated Across 27,500 Hectares in Bakerganj

Dew-Kissed Fields Spark Golden Hopes for Farmers

Lush green fields of Aman paddy stretch across Bakerganj, raising hopes among local farmers for a bountiful harvest. Brightening the rural landscape, the thriving crop reflects favorable weather conditions so far, sustaining optimism for strong yields this season.

Spanning 14 unions across the upazila, green paddy fields dominate the countryside. Local growers are working from dawn to dusk, carefully tending to their crops to secure maximum productivity.
Growers report that the crop has progressed well since planting, benefiting from the absence of major natural disasters. While farmers remain hopeful for a bumper yield, final production numbers will ultimately depend on late-season weather conditions.

To maximize output, the Upazila Agriculture Office is conducting field visits and providing guidance on pest control and crop management.

According to Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Isa, Aman cultivation covers 27,500 hectares this year. Under a government incentive program, 2,200 farmers received free inputs, each getting 5 kg of seeds and 20 kg of fertilizer.
He added that if favorable weather persists without major disruptions, the upazila is on track for a record-breaking harvest.
