Calls to Declare Qadianis Non-Muslim at State Level, Enact a Law in Parliament

The Jhalokathi District Branch of Bangladesh Khatme Nabuwat Songrokkhon Committee has demanded that the state declare Qadianis non Muslim. The group also wants Parliament to pass a law on this issue.

The leaders of the group made this demand at a press conference yesterday at noon at Jhalokathi Press Club. They held the press conference under the slogan “No prophet after the Prophet, we want a law in Parliament”.

The group claims that, under the basic belief of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad (Sa.) is the last prophet and no prophet will come after him. It says the Qadiani belief on prophethood is different. So the group demanded that the state declare Qadianis a separate religious community, against the core belief of Islam, and non Muslim.

A written statement read at the press conference made several demands. It said Qadianis should not be allowed to call themselves Muslims. Their religious identity should be stated separately in birth registration, national identity cards, passports, marriage and divorce papers and other government documents. The statement also said their places of worship should not be used as mosques, and they should not join the religious events of Muslims. It said they should not be buried in Muslim graveyards, and that marriage between them and Muslims should not be valid.

The group also said Qadianis are banned from entering holy Mecca. It said other Muslim countries have also declared Qadianis non Muslim by the state. For this reason, it urged the Bangladesh government to take quick steps.
