Riyadh Airport Closed: 10 Flights From Dhaka Cancelled, 3,500 Passengers Stranded

Ten flights from Dhaka to Saudi Arabia have been cancelled over the past three days due to the suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh following Houthi attacks. As a result, 3,431 passengers have been unable to travel to Saudi Arabia.

Kawser Mahmud, assistant director of the Public Relations Division of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), confirmed the information on Monday (October 12).

He said the flights were cancelled because operations at Riyadh airport had not yet resumed. The cancelled flights include two operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, two by US-Bangla Airlines, three by Saudia and three by Riyadh Air.

Kawser Mahmud added that further steps would be taken once airport operations in Riyadh resumed.
The airport closure has left the travel plans of passengers on these flights uncertain. Disruptions to flights bound for Riyadh may continue until the situation returns to normal.
