Urs of Atroshi Biswa Zaker Manzil in Faridpur on January 16 to 19

The holy Biswa Urs Sharif of Biswa Zaker Manzil Pak Darbar Sharif in Atroshi, Sadarpur upazila, Faridpur, will be held for four days. It will take place on January 16, 17, 18 and 19 of 2027. The date was announced earlier this week. Every year, devotees from different parts of the country and from abroad gather at Atroshi Biswa Zaker Manzil to join this holy Urs Sharif.

Biswa Zaker Manzil, in Atroshi village of Sadarpur upazila in Faridpur, is one of the well known Islamic spiritual centers in Bangladesh. This Darbar Sharif holds a special place among the followers of the Naqshbandia Mujaddedia order. On the guidance of Hazrat Khwaja Yunus Ali Enayetpuri (Q.S.A.), Biswa Wali Khwaja Baba Faridpuri (Q.S.A.) came to Atroshi village around the Bengali year 1354, which is 1947 to 1948.

At first, he began the work of the spiritual center in a small house made of thatch and bamboo. Over time, through spiritual teaching, religious practice and the steady gathering of people, that small thatched house grew into today’s Biswa Zaker Manzil. In the Sufi tradition, the Urs Sharif is seen as an occasion to remember a spiritual saint and take inspiration from his life and teachings. It is also seen as a time for a religious gathering.

At the Urs Sharif of Biswa Zaker Manzil too, programmes such as Zikr and Azkar, Nasihat, Dua and Munajat, and the Ziyarat of graves are held with deep religious feeling. During the Urs, the Atroshi Darbar Sharif grounds come alive with the arrival of Ashekan and Zakeran from home and abroad. Special Munajat is held at all times for world peace, the welfare of the country and the nation, and the good of all people.

With the announcement of the four day holy Biswa Urs Sharif from January 16 to 19, 2027, devotees now hope to begin their preparations. More details on the formal programmes, travel and other arrangements will be known when the Darbar Sharif gives further guidance or announcements.
