Prime Minister Meets Three Remarkable Individuals Who Inspire the Nation

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman recently met with three inspirational individuals at the Bangladesh Secretariat, expressing profound appreciation for their extraordinary societal contributions and assuring them of full government support. The honourees, Nayla Sharaf, Md. Altaf Hossain, and Rezaul Kibria Babul, became visibly emotional during the special gathering as they shared their unique life struggles and dedication to public welfare.

Highlighting a remarkable career path, BUET graduate Nayla Sharaf chose primary school education over prestigious public sector roles, including passing the 34th BCS exam and serving previously in the LGED and Janata Bank. For the past seven years, she has taught children at Panchananpur Government Primary School in Netrokona, personally creating custom teaching aids and digital content to enrich underprivileged students.

Another inspiring figure, Md. Altaf Hossain from Narsingdi, overcame being born without hands by learning to write with his feet and founding the Pratibha Dukhu Mia Kindergarten School in 2007. Funded through his personal savings and the sale of ancestral land, the institution now supports 145 students and 10 teachers, prompting the PM to promise a brand-new school building.

Meanwhile, Rezaul Kibria Babul from Char Fasson, Bhola, has spent nearly three decades independently planting thousands of trees along local roads using his own funds and a nursery established by selling ancestral property. Serving also as a local mosque imam, his enduring environmental efforts have successfully matured into vast green corridors that provide much-needed shade for pedestrians.

Commending these exceptional endeavors, the PM stated, ‘The nation deeply needs people like you. If everyone steps forward like you, building the nation will become much easier.’ Emphasizing that such independent grassroots initiatives are immensely significant, he strongly encouraged them to press forward with their respective humanitarian missions.
