Shuvagata Achieves Unique Double in First-Class Cricket

Shuvagata Hom has made history in Bangladesh cricket by becoming the country’s first player to score 7,000 runs and take 300 wickets in first-class cricket. The spinner-all-rounder reached the rare milestone on Tuesday during the National Cricket League (NCL).
He achieved the feat on the second day of the third-round match between Mymensingh Division and Dhaka Division at Cox’s Bazar Cricket Stadium. The right-handed batter scored 71 off 125 balls, including four boundaries, to reach the milestone. At the start of the day, he had scored 6,930 runs and taken 311 wickets in first-class cricket. He needed 70 runs to complete the historic double.
Mr. Shuvagata was dismissed for 71, adding one more run after crossing the 7,000-run mark. He has represented Bangladesh in eight Test matches, four One-Day Internationals and five T20 Internationals.
