Bangladesh’s ‘Mahanagar’ and ‘Bohemian Ghora’ Set to Stream on Netflix

Popular streaming platform Hoichoi has taken a major step towards bringing Bangladeshi web content to international audiences through a new partnership with Netflix. Under the deal, two notable Bangladeshi productions, Mahanagar and Bohemian Ghora, are set to join Netflix’s catalogue.

Over the next two years, viewers around the world will be able to watch acclaimed Hoichoi series and new original stories in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The initiative is expected to expand the international reach of Bengali-language storytelling and its creators.

Among the Bangladeshi productions set to appear on Netflix, Mahanagar was directed by Ashfaque Nipun, while Bohemian Ghora was directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury. The partnership is being viewed as an important step towards introducing Bangladeshi filmmakers and their work to a wider international audience.

Hoichoi’s catalogue also includes several other series and films, such as Madam Inspector, Sampurna, Lajja, Byomkesh and Ojana Chhaya. New original content will be released on Hoichoi’s own platform as well as on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

As part of the initiative, Hoichoi Studios will also produce new original series. The plans include presenting familiar stories from different perspectives while introducing emerging talent and creative projects to international audiences.
