All Dammam Flights Suspended, Riyadh Route Closed Until October 31, Two Injured Bangladeshis Stable

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended its flights to Dammam and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia to ensure passenger safety following an attack at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.

In a press release issued on Thursday (October 22), Biman announced that all flights from Dhaka to Dammam scheduled for October 23, 24, and 25 have been suspended. In addition, given the ongoing situation regarding the air strikes, all Dhaka–Riyadh flights have been put on hold until October 31.

The airline noted that further updates and revised flight schedules regarding the suspended routes will be announced in due course.

However, Biman flights operating from Dhaka to Jeddah and Medina will continue according to their original schedules. In case of emergencies, passengers bound for Dammam and Riyadh may travel to and from Saudi Arabia via Jeddah and Medina international airports, subject to seat availability.

Passengers are requested to contact their nearest Biman Bangladesh Airlines sales office for ticket and travel-related inquiries.

Meanwhile, two Bangladeshi nationals injured in the attack on King Fahd International Airport are currently receiving treatment at the Saudi German Hospital in Dammam and are doing well.

The Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment confirmed this information on Thursday (October 22).

According to the ministry, the two Bangladeshis were injured during an attack targeting the airport around 9:00 PM on Wednesday. A representative from the Bangladesh Embassy visited them at the hospital to inquire about their treatment and well-being.

The victims had lost consciousness due to heat and smoke, but they sustained no external physical injuries. They have recovered well, spoke directly with the embassy representative, and are expected to be discharged tomorrow.

The two injured individuals have been identified as Sajal Chandra Das from Bangra Bazar in Cumilla, and Mohammad Abdur Rahim from Noakhali Sadar.
