Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna Approach Cyber Police Over Trolling and Defamation

Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have taken legal action following widespread online trolling and coordinated defamation campaigns. Their representatives submitted a written complaint to the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police.

The backlash stemmed from a snippet of a recent talk show appearance where Mandanna lightheartedly shared details about her relationship, mentioning she had to propose to Deverakonda repeatedly before he agreed to marry her. Out-of-context clips circulated on social media, leading to heavy trolling and negative labeling directed at Deverakonda.

In their complaint, representatives alleged that malicious groups are manipulating screenshots and spreading misleading information to damage the couple’s public image. They requested that law enforcement identify the perpetrators and any entity funding the smear campaign.

Emphasizing freedom of expression, the actors stated that while opinions are welcome, abusing that freedom to defame or harass individuals crosses acceptable boundaries.
