$20 an hour to walk a robot dog

An unusual new job opportunity has emerged in the age of technological advancement. US-based artificial intelligence (AI) startup Dimensional, headquartered in San Francisco, has sparked widespread discussion in the tech world with a job advertisement offering $20 an hour (around Tk 2,500) to walk robot dogs on city streets.
According to the advertisement, applicants do not need any prior experience in robotics. Those hired will have to walk four-legged robot dogs around city streets for four to six hours a day, operating them through a remote control or mobile app.
However, the job is not entirely hassle-free. Candidates must also be physically and mentally prepared to carry the 15kg (33-pound) metal robots back to the office if they overheat, malfunction or shut down midway through a walk.
The company has launched the initiative primarily to train artificial intelligence models for autonomous navigation.
