New Twist in Ex-Air Force Officer Tahsif’s Death: Friend Disha Arrested

The investigation into the mysterious death of former Bangladesh Air Force Flight Lieutenant KM Tahsif Sawri has taken a new turn with the arrest of his friend, Ms. Disha, by River Police.
Concurrently, investigating officers are interrogating Tahsif’s close friend, Ahmed Shahriyar Reza Deep, who is currently on a four-day remand in connection with a murder case. Authorities are cross-referencing information provided by Mr. Deep with CCTV footage and physical evidence to unravel the mystery surrounding the death.
According to River Police sources, Ms. Disha was arrested on Saturday night (October 31). Interrogations of Mr. Deep began at midnight the same day. Investigators are scrutinizing Mr. Tahsif’s final contacts, movements, and the roles played by those involved prior to his death.
Preliminary findings suggest Mr. Deep’s potential involvement in the incident. Investigators are verifying his statements against collected evidence, focusing particularly on inconsistencies in his initial statements and his activities on the night preceding the incident.
Earlier, following allegations by Tahsif’s family, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) initially detained Mr. Deep, Mr. Tahsif’s constant companion and junior friend, for questioning. Mr. Deep provided information regarding their movements across various locations, prompting officers to inspect several key sites.
CCTV footage has emerged as a crucial clue in the investigation. One sequence shows Mr. Tahsif and a young woman outside an elevator at a restaurant in Uttara. Mr. Deep is subsequently seen arriving wearing a helmet, after which all three enter the elevator together and exit approximately an hour and a half later. Investigators are looking into the events at the restaurant prior to the group’s departure toward the Mazar Basti area in Tongi.
River Police noted that Mr. Deep’s interrogation is structured around the murder charges filed by Mr. Tahsif’s family, his previous statements, surveillance footage, and forensic evidence gathered from the scene.
Tahsif had left home on his motorcycle on the evening of October 27 after receiving a call from Mr. Deep. The following afternoon, October 28, River Police recovered his body floating in the Turag River near Rajabari Ghat in Uttarkhan.
Although Mr. Deep initially claimed that he and Mr. Tahsif parted ways near the Uttara Housebuilding area after dinner, investigators later gathered CCTV footage and evidence that contradicted his account.
