The Bangladesh Jamiatul Modarreseen, a non-political professional organisation of madrasa teachers and employees, has expressed gratitude to President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir for his advice and support for the development of madrasa education.

Recently, President Mirza Fakhrul held a courtesy meeting with the top leaders of Jamiatul Modarreseen. During the meeting, he listened carefully to their views and demands and gave them advice on the overall development of the madrasa education system.

The organisation expressed its thanks to the president on behalf of teachers and employees at all levels for his sincerity and guidance.

On Thursday, the leaders formally congratulated him at a special meeting held at the organisation’s central office. The meeting was moderated by its Secretary General Principal Shabbir Ahmad Momtazi.

The leaders said Mirza Fakhrul’s late father had a close and friendly relationship with the late president of Bangladesh Jamiatul Modarreseen, Alhaj MA Mannan (RA). They said Mirza Fakhrul had continued that historic and brotherly relationship by maintaining a close relationship with the current president of Jamiatul Modarreseen, Alhaj A M M Bahauddin.

They also said Mirza Fakhrul had been supporting the organisation by providing advice and guidance for its social, educational and teacher-friendly activities. This had encouraged and pleased people involved in madrasa education.

The speakers said his constructive guidance on solving the problems of independent Ibtedayi madrasas and nationalising the jobs of private madrasa teachers and employees had created new hope among teachers.

They expressed hope that under his guidance and support, Jamiatul Modarreseen would play a stronger role in improving the quality of madrasa education and ensuring teachers’ rights.

Secretary General Principal Shabbir Ahmad Momtazi called on all teachers to remain united. He said desired demands could not be achieved through separate or individual movements. He also said lasting results could not be achieved through confrontation with policymakers.

He urged madrasa teachers and employees to remain united under the banner of Jamiatul Modarreseen while preserving their history and traditions.

He said Jamiatul Modarreseen President Alhaj A M M Bahauddin had provided proper leadership during many difficult situations through his wisdom and experience. He said there was no alternative to his guidance and leadership for the progress of madrasa education.

He called on teachers not to be misled and to remain united to ensure their rightful benefits, end discrimination and build a stronger madrasa education system.
