Attempts Are Being Made From Across the Border to Destabilize the Country: PM

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman warned on Thursday that an unruly group is attempting to create chaos across the country under the guise of workers’ demands, orchestrated by conspirators from across the border. Speaking at a street rally at the Katakhali Intersection on the Khulna-Mongla Highway in Bagerhat, he stressed that genuine working people would never damage industrial establishments. He criticized a certain faction for visiting various factories, vandalizing machinery, and attempting to destroy the nation’s industrial infrastructure.
Addressing the audience, the PM highlighted the political past of these elements, noting that they failed to improve citizens’ lives over the last 15 to 16 years. He stated that those who stripped away voting rights and laundered looted national wealth abroad were ultimately forced to flee following a mass uprising. According to the PM, these ousted figures are now pulling strings from across the border to instigate instability and disrupt national progress.
Reassuring the labor force, PM Tarique Rahman affirmed that the government remains fully aware of their legitimate wage demands. He announced that a wage board has already been formed and has commenced its review process to address these concerns. He assured the crowd that within the next one to two months, the board will establish a new minimum wage, ensuring that worker brothers and sisters can lead better and more dignified lives.
The street rally was chaired by Bagerhat District BNP leader Barrister Zakir Hossain and attended by several cabinet ministers, including Sheikh Robiul Alam, Md. Rajib Ahsan, and Dr. Sheikh Foridul Islam, alongside local BNP leaders. Thousands of activists from BNP and its associate organizations lined the streets to welcome the PM. Following the rally, PM Tarique Rahman visited and paid his respects at the shrine of the historic saint Hazrat Khan Jahan Ali (R.).
