China Launches Three More Remote-Sensing Satellites

China has added three more remote-sensing satellites to its space programme. The satellites were launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province in southwest China.

The Yaogan-51 series satellites No. 07, 08 and 09 were launched at 11:58 pm local time on Thursday (November 5). They were carried into space by a Long March-2C rocket.

The information was reported by China’s English-language news outlet ECNS, citing the state-run Xinhua News Agency.

After the launch, all three satellites successfully entered their planned orbits. They will be used for scientific experiments and to detect the electromagnetic environment.

The launch marked the 675th mission of China’s Long March series of rockets.

Earlier, on October 25, China launched a group of low-Earth-orbit internet satellites from Hainan, a southern island province. It was the 674th mission of the Long March rocket series.
