Calm Returns to the Garment Industry as Workers Continue Production at Kaliakair Factories Even on Holidays

Sujan, a machine operator at the Apex Holdings factory, said that production had been suspended for the past few days, creating uncertainty over sending goods on time. Workers voluntarily reported for duty today to save those shipments. Another worker, Rajani, stated that the factories will remain closed on Saturday, November 7, an official public holiday. Today’s additional work was arranged to adjust for that upcoming holiday.
According to factory sources, owners were previously forced to keep several garment factories in Kaliakair closed due to recent labor unrest. This raised serious concerns about failing to deliver goods to foreign buyers within scheduled deadlines. A few factories were kept open today to offset those losses and hand over products to buyers on time.
Meanwhile, visits across Hartakitola, Kalampur, and surrounding industrial areas in Kaliakair from Friday morning until the afternoon revealed no signs of tension, untoward incidents, or labor unrest. The overall law and order situation remains normal, and the atmosphere across the industrial region is entirely calm.
