PM Calls on Students to Show Love and Care for Animals

Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman has called on students to protect nature and the environment while also showing love and care toward all animals. He said that as the finest of creation, it is human beings’ responsibility to care for plants and animals, and that people must show compassion toward animals without causing them harm.

The Prime Minister made these remarks today, Thursday (September 10), while meeting with students from Puthia Girls’ High School in Rajshahi, Savar Government Girls’ High School in Dhaka, Tejgaon Women’s College, and Shafiuddin Sarkar Academy and College in Tongi, at the National Parliament building.

The Prime Minister urged students to plant more trees and to keep their surroundings clean and free of environmental pollution. He emphasized the importance of building a habit of responsible behavior toward nature, the environment, and animals from an early age.

Alongside their studies, the Prime Minister also urged students to continue regularly engaging in sports and cultural activities. As part of cultural activities, he encouraged them to take part in singing, poetry recitation, drawing, and practicing musical instruments. He also advised students to practice Qirat.

Highlighting the importance of sports for physical and mental development, the Prime Minister said that regular sports activities not only keep the body healthy but also build discipline, self-confidence, focus, and a mindset of teamwork.

Thirty-six students and eight teachers from grades six to ten of Puthia Girls’ High School, and fifty students and four teachers from grades six to ten of Savar Government Girls’ High School, visited the National Parliament building that day. Additionally, 46 twelfth-grade students and 11 teachers from Tejgaon Women’s College, and 47 students from grades eight to twelve along with six teachers from Shafiuddin Sarkar Academy and College, also visited the Parliament building. They observed a session of the National Parliament.

The students expressed their excitement at having the opportunity to meet and speak directly with the Prime Minister. They said the Prime Minister’s advice and guidance had inspired them, and that the meeting would remain a memorable moment in their lives.
