Houthis Launch Missile, Drone Attacks on Saudi Oil Refinery, Airbase

Yemeni Houthi rebels have launched drone and powerful ballistic missile attacks on Saudi Arabia’s key oil facilities and an airbase. The attacks targeted Saudi oil company Aramco’s facilities in Yanbu, a port city on the Red Sea coast, and the main airbase in Khamis Mushait.

In a statement issued by its military forces, the Houthis said the twin attacks were carried out in strong protest and retaliation against the Saudi-led coalition’s missile strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen earlier this week.

The statement further said that dozens of ballistic missiles and drones had struck the Aramco oil refinery in Yanbu with precision and directly, causing a massive fire and extensive damage there.

The Yemeni armed group also claimed that the Khamis Mushait airbase was precisely struck by ballistic missiles.
