Six Dead in Gas Cylinder Explosion at Ashulia Garment Factory
A fire broke out at a garment factory in the Jamgora area of Ashulia after a gas cylinder on a lorry exploded. As of the latest report, six people were dead and 12 others were injured in the incident. The fire broke out at a garment factory of Preeti Group in the Jamgora area on Sunday (September 20) evening.
After receiving the news, four units of the Fire Service reached the scene and began efforts to bring the fire under control. The fire was brought under control after nearly two hours of efforts.
According to the Fire Service, three people who suffered burn injuries were sent to the Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Another 12 injured people were admitted to a local women’s and children’s hospital.
The Fire Service confirmed that six people were dead in the incident. However, the identities of the deceased and injured were not immediately known. The exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not yet been confirmed. The Fire Service said details would be provided after an investigation.
