China-Bangladesh Reaffirm Governance and Sustainable Partnership Commitments

China and Bangladesh have pledged to deepen bilateral relations by sharing governance practices and sustainable development strategies amid complex global challenges.
Speaking on behalf of the Chinese Ambassador at the 2nd China-Bangladesh Roundtable on Governance Experience Sharing in Dhaka, Cultural Counselor Li Shaofeng highlighted the timeliness of joint dialogue to realize top-level strategic visions for a shared future.

Prominent attendees included Bangladesh Education Minister A. N. M. Ehsanul Hoque Milan, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies Vice President Dr. Li Kaisheng, and Osmani Center for Peace and Security Studies Chairman Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman.
Mr. Li emphasized that as key Global South members, China and Bangladesh must collaborate to promote a balanced, orderly, and multilateral international system amid political instability and security risks.

Both nations agreed to cooperate on harnessing the Bay of Bengal’s economic potential, addressing climate change, improving disaster management, and advancing technical support for affected populations.
Quoting President Xi Jinping, “The country is its people, and the people are the country”, Mr. Li reaffirmed China’s commitment to people-centered development and ensuring the benefits of growth reach all levels of society.
