PM Tarique Rahman Arrives in New York
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has arrived in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). He is scheduled to address the General Assembly on September 24.
A Turkish Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister landed at John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport at 6:20pm New York time on Monday. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was accompanied by his wife, Dr Zubaida Rahman, and other members of his entourage.
At the airport, the Prime Minister was received by Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Irene Zubaida Khan, and Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States Tareq Md Ariful Islam.
From JFK International Airport, the Prime Minister was escorted by a motorcade to the Hyatt Grand Central New York hotel. Bangladesh’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador A K M Wahiduzzaman, welcomed him at the hotel.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will stay at the Hyatt Grand Central New York during his visit to New York. After completing his programme in New York, he is scheduled to leave for Bangladesh on the night of September 25.
