New Curriculum to Begin in 2028:Education Minister

Education, Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. Mr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has announced that a new curriculum will begin from 2028. He said the entire secondary education system is being reorganized and the curriculum is being changed.

Minister Mr. Milon made these remarks on Thursday, September 24, at the third Dhaka China Day 2026 celebration event. The event was held at East West University in the capital.

Minister Mr. Milon said the University Grants Commission, known as UGC, is becoming much stricter in reviewing the progress of universities. He noted that the country now has 116 private universities.

He said a strong Bangladesh Accreditation Council has been formed to handle the accreditation of these universities. He also shared some recent international developments in education.

Mr. Milon said Bangladesh has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. He said the government is looking at ways to further improve the education sector.

He added that Monash University has expressed interest in setting up a campus in Bangladesh. He said the government will work to make this happen.
