Chinese Ambassador Pays Farewell Call on Prime Minister

The outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Secretariat on Monday, 28 September. At the outset, the Chinese Ambassador congratulated the PM on his successful participation in the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly and the accomplishment of various engagements in New York.

During the discussion, PM Tarique Rahman stressed the further expansion of trade, investment, and development cooperation, alongside addressing matters of mutual interest, including the Rohingya crisis. Ambassador Yao Wen stated that China’s support for Bangladesh’s development endeavors would continue, expressing hope that bilateral relations would be further strengthened.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs-1 Humayun Kabir and Executive Chairman of Investment Bangladesh Ashik Chowdhury were present at the meeting. The Chinese Ambassador was accompanied by Deputy Chief of Mission Liu Yuin.
