Islam Entered the Subcontinent via Sufi Saints: Pir of Fandauk

Lying is a severe sin and the root of destruction; as a major sin (Kabirah), it cannot be forgiven without sincere repentance (Tawbah). Conversely, truthfulness paves the way to achieving proximity to Allah. Expressing gratitude for Allah’s blessings leads to their multiplication, making it an essential duty for every believer. Allah created mankind and jinn solely for His worship and servitude. Furthermore, steadfast patience during trials is imperative, as Allah loves those who remain patient.

While worldly life is temporary, the afterlife has a beginning but no end, offering eternal peace or suffering. Prayer (Salah) serves as a shield against indecency and immorality. Therefore, everyone should seek the company of the truthful. Since no Prophets or Messengers were sent to the Indian subcontinent, Islam was propagated across this region through Islamic saints and scholars (Auliya). Consequently, believers should draw inspiration from their noble principles and follow their path.

Alhaj Maulana Mufti Syed Saleh Ahmad Mamun Al-Husseini, Pir of Fandauk Darbar Sharif and Amir of Bangladesh Anjuman-e-Khadimul Islam, made these remarks as the chief guest during a weekly Islamic gathering organized by the Fandauk Darbar Sharif at Islamabad Jame Mosque in Madhabpur Upazila, Habiganj. Following the discussion, he led a special prayer (Dua) seeking peace, prosperity, and unity for the nation and the global Muslim community.
