Bangladesh Is a Highly Trusted Friend of China: Yao Wen

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a farewell courtesy call on Prime Minister’s Defence Adviser Brigadier General (retd.) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam.
The meeting was held on Tuesday at the office of the Defence Adviser at the Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the farewell meeting, the Defence Adviser highly praised the Chinese ambassador’s constructive role and contributions to taking bilateral and defence relations between the two countries to a new level during his tenure in Bangladesh.
He expressed sincere gratitude for China’s continued cooperation in the modernisation of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, strengthening institutional capabilities and advancing professional development. He also expressed hope that defence cooperation, military training and joint technological initiatives between the two countries would be further expanded and strengthened in the coming days.
The departing Chinese ambassador said Bangladesh is a highly trusted friend of China and one of China’s important development and strategic partners. He gratefully recalled the extensive cooperation he received from the Defence Adviser and the Armed Forces during his tenure in Bangladesh.
He expressed hope that mutual trust, the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries would continue to grow in the future.
