Technical Glitch Disrupts Visa Services at Bangladeshi Missions Abroad

Visa services at various Bangladeshi missions abroad are currently facing temporary disruptions due to a technical glitch in the Machine Readable Visa (MRV) central server located in Dhaka, causing inconvenience to applicants seeking visas and related services. The Bangladesh Embassies in Bangkok and Lisbon disclosed this information in separate emergency notices issued on Monday night.

According to the statement from the Embassy in Bangkok, applicants may experience difficulties in submitting visa applications and receiving visa-related services owing to the temporary server disruption. The relevant technical team is actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Until the server becomes fully operational, applicants have been advised to postpone urgent travel plans dependent on visa processing, if feasible.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Embassy in Lisbon stated that visa and ‘No Visa Required’ (NVR) services at the mission are being disrupted as the central MRV server in Dhaka remains temporarily out of service. Technical teams are working to restore the server at the earliest. The embassy further mentioned that service seekers will be informed through a subsequent notice once a positive signal is received from the Department of Immigration and Passports following the restoration of the central server. Expressing regret for the temporary inconvenience, both Bangladeshi missions requested the patience and cooperation of the applicants.
