Amar Ekushey Book Fair to Begin on January 7

The month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair, organised in memory of the Language Movement martyrs, will begin on January 7, 2027. The information was announced in a notice signed by Bangla Academy Director General Mohammad Azam on Sunday (October 18).

According to the notice, a consultation meeting with publishers’ representatives on organising the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2027 was held at the Shaheed Munier Chowdhury Conference Room of Bangla Academy at 10:30 am on October 13.

The meeting was chaired by Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury. Cultural Affairs Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman and ministry secretary Yasmin Begum were also present. Based on a unanimous decision by the publishers’ representatives, the book fair will run from January 7 to February 6, 2027.
