10-Year-Old Bangladeshi Boy Memorizes Quran in Record 8 Months

In an extraordinary achievement, 10-year-old Mohammad Abdur Rahman from Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur, has completed memorizing the Holy Quran in just eight months. While it typically takes two to three years for students to become a Hafez, Abdur Rahman’s remarkable dedication has amazed both his teachers and guardians.
Abdur Rahman began his journey in January 2025 at Faizul Quran Islamia Madrasa, located in Char Lawrence Bazar. He is the son of Anwar Hossain, a businessman from Ward 1 of Char Lawrence Union.
According to his instructors, Abdur Rahman started by learning two to three pages daily, quickly progressing to five and sometimes ten pages at a time. While other children played in the afternoons, he stayed in his room studying diligent focus that sustained him right through to his final day of memorization.
Expressing his joy, Abdur Rahman shared that he aspires to become an Islamic scholar in the future.
His father, Anwar Hossain, expressed deep gratitude to the teachers, noting that fulfilling his family’s long-cherished dream brought immense satisfaction.
Mawlana Abul Kalam, director of the madrasa, praised the young student’s achievement as a proud milestone for the institution, which saw five students become Hafez this year.
