Best Coach Award Goes to World Cup-Winning Luis de la Fuente

Spain national football team coach Luis de la Fuente has been named the Best Coach of 2026 in recognition of leading Spain to the World Cup title.
Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta and Bayern Munich’s Vincent Kompany were also nominated for the award.
The 65-year-old de la Fuente received the award at a gala ceremony at London’s Palladium Theatre on Monday night.
Under de la Fuente, Spain won the North American World Cup, which concluded in July, without losing a match. The team played dominant football throughout the tournament, conceding just one goal in eight matches to lift the trophy.
Spain dominated the final so thoroughly that their opponents, Argentina, failed to register a single shot on target.
