Diamond World MD Dilip Kumar Agarwala Arrested Again

Dilip Kumar Agarwala, a prominent gold trader and the Managing Director of Diamond World, has been arrested once again by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) in connection with a CID case. He was detained from the capital’s Banani area around 6:00 PM on Monday.

Following his arrest, he was taken to the DB office, where subsequent legal proceedings will be carried out.

DB Chief Shariful Islam stated that a case has been filed against Dilip Agarwala with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). He was apprehended at the request of the CID based on that case, and further details will be disclosed in due course, the DB chief added.

Following the fall of the Awami League government in 2024, Agarwala was initially arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on charges of gold and diamond smuggling, fraud, forgery, and money laundering. He was subsequently released on bail.
