Jamiat Urges Unity Under Its Banner to Demand Job Nationalization

Leaders of Bangladesh Jamiat Ulamai Modarresin have urged madrasa teachers and employees nationwide to remain strongly united under the organization’s banner to achieve their legitimate demand for job nationalization. Speaking at a conference, speakers emphasized that the organization has historically played a pivotal role in securing the rights of madrasa education, teachers, and staff, expressing full confidence that their fair demands will be realized under its leadership in the future as well.
The remarks were made at the Bangladesh Jamiat Ulamai Modarresin Bhola Sadar Upazila Conference 2026, held on Wednesday, October 7, at 10:00 AM in the auditorium of Bhola Alia Madrasa. Principal Alhaj Maulana Abdul Latif, President of Bhola Sadar Upazila Jamiat Ulamai Modarresin, delivered the welcome address. Central Joint Secretary General Alhaj Maulana Mohammad Mobashirul Haq Naim attended as chief guest, while Bhola District Jamiat President Maulana Ahammad Ullah Ansari was the main speaker.
In his address as chief guest, Alhaj Maulana Mohammad Mobashirul Haq Naim stated that since its inception, Bangladesh Jamiat Ulamai Modarresin has continuously launched movements to protect madrasa education, defend teachers’ rights, and preserve the distinct identity of Islamic education. He noted that the historic body was founded on March 2, 1937, and has led solo movements for survival, pay scale improvements, allowances, board autonomy, degree recognition, and infrastructural development.
Highlighting key historic achievements, the chief guest noted that long-standing organizational efforts secured the establishment of the Islamic Arabic University, a dedicated Directorate of Madrasa Education, manpower frameworks, independent Ebtedayee madrasa policies, and MPO inclusion for non-MPO institutions. Expressing optimism for the future, he affirmed, ‘Just as past demands were realized through unity and movement, the current demand for job nationalization will also be fulfilled through Jamiat Ulamai Modarresin.’
Addressing current policy gaps, Mr. Naim stressed the urgent need to eliminate long-standing discrimination between general education and madrasa education, highlighting foundational efforts initiated by late Maulana M. A. Mannan (R.A.). He pointed out that despite a policy adopted in 2019 after 40 years of absence since 1984, implementation remains pending. Consequently, he demanded the immediate formulation and execution of Ebtedayee policies to nationalize 26,000 independent Ebtedayee madrasas, aligning them with primary schools.
Looking ahead, the chief guest announced that a grand central conference of Bangladesh Jamiat Ulamai Modarresin will take place in Dhaka toward the end of October, with plans for the Education Minister to attend. Cautioning attendees against rumors and internal divisions, he urged all madrasa personnel across the country to prepare unitedly for its success while relying steadfastly on the central leadership of President Alhaj A.M.M. Bahauddin and General Secretary Principal Alhaj Maulana Sabbir Ahmed Momtazi.
The conference was moderated by Maulana Md. Shamsul Alam Chowdhury, with prominent local leaders, principals, superintendents, and staff from various upazilas attending the lively event. Speakers reaffirmed that madrasa education contributes significantly to the national education system, making job nationalization an imperative step to eliminate long-standing disparities. The gathering concluded with special prayers seeking eternal peace for deceased teachers and staff, including late Maulana Md. Shahjahan, former Treasurer of Bhola Sadar Upazila Jamiat.
