July Fighters may Get 36% Lifetime Hotel Discount

July fighters and their families may receive a lifetime 36 percent discount at all hotels and motels operated by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat said. Speaking at a discussion and honouring ceremony for July martyrs’ families and July fighters at the Tourism Corporation’s conference room in Dhaka on Tuesday, Mr Millat said, “The chairman of the Tourism Corporation has already made a declaration so that July fighters and their families can receive a 36 percent discount for life at our hotels and motels. I will request the minister and the secretary to endorse it.”
He also proposed free training for injured July fighters in tourism-related fields, including hotel management and culinary skills. “We have facilities for such training. If we can provide them free training, I believe it would be an added contribution from our ministry,” he said. The minister further proposed free entry to tourist attractions that charge admission fees for July fighters. “They protected the sovereignty of the country and saved the nation. So I want to put forward this proposal,” he said. He also urged businesses and senior officials to facilitate employment for injured July fighters and relatives of martyrs. “If some of those who were injured can be given jobs, or if we can facilitate employment for relatives of martyr families, our ministry will feel that we have done something for the martyr families and fighters,” he said.
The event was organised by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation to mark July Mass Uprising Day. Related officials and dignitaries were present at the ceremony.
