Nasir Uddin Patwary rode in an AL leader’s Prado during long march: Rashed Khan

Mr. Rashed Khan, the Prime Minister’s political assistant, has alleged that NCP Chief Coordinator Mr. Nasir Uddin Patwary took part in the long march riding in a Prado belonging to an Awami League leader. He also questioned the purpose and program of the long march itself. Mr. Rashed Khan made these allegations in a post on his social media on Sunday (6 September).

Mr. Rashed Khan claimed that, during a discussion at Mr. Nahid Islam’s residence in the ministers’ quarters, Mr. Nasir Uddin Patwari used to talk about seizing Awami League members’ houses and wealth. He said the use of an Awami League leader’s Prado in the long march partly reflects that earlier remark.

He questioned whether the vehicle had been given to the Awami League leader in exchange for providing him security, or whether it had been taken out of a tendency to seize Awami League assets — saying this needs to be investigated.

Mr. Rashed Khan further alleged that the absence of any statements against the Awami League or demanding trial for the killings during the long march program also raises questions. He claimed the purpose of the long march was to set the stage for bringing Sheikh Hasina back to the country in December.

He further said that although people carrying provocative slogans and sticks took part in the long march, BNP and its affiliated organizations’ leaders and activists did not get involved in this. In his post, Mr. Rashed Khan also raised the question of whether NCP would take any organizational action on this matter.
