None of the Instigators of Unrest Are Ordinary Workers: DIG Mostafizur
Dhaka Range DIG Mustafizur Rahman has said that none of those creating disorder in the name of a workers’ movement in the industrial areas of Savar and Ashulia are ordinary workers. He said the saboteurs will be brought under the law and strict punishment will be ensured.
He made the remarks yesterday afternoon while talking to journalists after visiting various factories in Savar.
Dhaka Range DIG Mustafizur Rahman further said that some miscreants are creating disorder by exploiting the workers’ movement. “We are looking into them and collecting information. Outsiders creating disorder in the name of the movement will be brought under the law,” he said. On this occasion, the DIG also called on the workers to be vigilant.
Saying that additional police have been deployed at various points in Savar and Ashulia, Mustafizur Rahman said the situation in Savar was largely calm yesterday. Although some reports of disorder were received, the situation was brought under control immediately because the police were alert, he said.
Dhaka district Superintendent of Police Shamima Parvin, Savar Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Saiful Alam and other police officials were present on the occasion.
