On Being Compelled to Urinate While Standing Because of Wearing Full-Length Trousers

Question: Wearing full-length trousers for most of the day leaves me compelled to urinate while standing. If I urinate while sitting, there is a risk of urine soiling my clothes. What does Islam say about this?Wearing full-length trousers for most of the day leaves me compelled to urinate while standing. If I urinate while sitting, there is a risk of urine soiling my clothes. What does Islam say about this?
Answer: Islam does not endorse wearing clothing that makes it impossible to remain free from urine impurity. Clothing should be such that a person can urinate while sitting and properly cleanse themselves afterwards. Standing urination may be permitted once or twice in one’s lifetime under exceptional circumstances. However, regularly urinating while standing solely because of one’s clothing is by no means permissible under Islamic principles. The style of clothing must therefore be changed.
