Prime Minister’s flight heads to Dhaka after technical fault is fixed

The aircraft carrying Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman has left for Dhaka after a technical fault was fixed. Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG 377 took off from Narita International Airport at 10:56 pm Japan local time yesterday. This was about five and a half hours late. The plane is expected to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 2 am.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines officials confirmed the matter. Mr. Atiqur Rahman Rumon, Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, also confirmed it.
The Prime Minister was to return home at 6 pm Japan local time after a four day official visit to Japan. He and his team boarded the plane on time. However, the plane could not take off because of a technical fault.
Sources said the plane was pushed back from the terminal after boarding. While it moved toward the runway, a warning about a fault in the spoiler showed up in the cockpit. The pilot then cancelled the takeoff. The plane was taken back to its parking area.
Engineers began technical checks and repair work right after the fault was found. According to the engineering department, a technical team led by Engineer Mr. Sadequl Islam Bhuiyan and Engineer Mr. Mannan fixed the fault. After the repair and the needed checks, the plane took off again.
