President Trump’s Navy-Blue Suit Made in Adamjee, Narayanganj

The navy-blue suit worn by US President Donald Trump was manufactured at a factory in the Adamjee Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Narayanganj, Bangladesh. Produced for the American apparel brand Jos. A. Bank, the suit was crafted by Universal Menswear Limited, as confirmed by the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Sharif Zahir. President Trump wore the suit on October 5 during a ‘Make America Great Again’ rally in Grand Island, Nebraska. Following the event, discussions arose regarding the manufacturing origin of the garment after its brand identity was revealed.
In a report published on October 8, US media outlet CNN noted that the suit was likely made in either Bangladesh or China. Mr. Sharif Zahir later confirmed that the suit worn by Mr. Trump was indeed produced at their facility located in the Adamjee EPZ. Spanning over 500,000 square feet, the Universal Menswear facility features automated fabric-cutting systems, specialized sewing and pressing equipment, and a conveyor-based material handling network across its production and storage areas, according to the company’s website.
Mr. Sharif Zahir stated that seeing a billionaire US president wearing an affordable suit made in Bangladesh reflects the country’s technical craftsmanship and cost-effective manufacturing capabilities. He described the moment as a point of pride not only for the company’s skilled workforce but also for the broader Bangladeshi garment industry. Universal Menswear Limited manufactures a wide range of men’s apparel for the international market, including suits, blazers, jackets, and trousers. The company’s operations serve as an example of Bangladesh’s readymade garment sector participating in the global supply chain.
