Six More Children Die From Measles

In the past 24 hours, six more children have died with measles symptoms across the country, including four in Dhaka. During the same period, 860 new cases were recorded. The information was released in the health department’s regular measles report on Thursday, August 6.
According to the report, since March 15, 764 children have died with measles symptoms, while 96 deaths have been confirmed as caused by measles, bringing the total death toll to 860. The report also said that 85 new confirmed measles cases were detected in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 16,740 confirmed measles cases have been reported nationwide.
The report further stated that 733 more people developed measles symptoms in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 133,638 people have reported measles symptoms. During the same period, 115,879 patients with measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals, of whom 111,587 have been discharged.
