8 Banned Awami League Leaders and Activists Arrested in Savar

Police in Savar have arrested eight leaders and activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliate organizations, including Sheikh Tuhin, Organizational Secretary of Savar Sadar Union Jubo League, and Md. Akash, former President of Aminbazar Union Chhatra League.

The arrests were made during separate raids conducted across various locations in Savar from Sunday afternoon through early Monday morning, September 21.

Saiful Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station, confirmed the matter on Monday morning.
The arrestees have been identified as Sheikh Tuhin (32), Md. Akash (39), Raju Khan (39), Anwar Hossain (50), Ruhul Amin Rajib (38), Md. Ariful Islam (24), Mohammad Ali (36), and Murad Hossain (45).

According to police, the suspects were actively involved in organizing flash processions and attempting to create instability in the area. Key evidence related to these activities was seized during the operation.
OC Saiful Alam emphasized that any attempts to disrupt law and order or conduct activities on behalf of banned organizations will not be tolerated.
