9-Hour Power Cut Scheduled for Thursday in Select Areas

Electricity supply will remain suspended for 9 consecutive hours in several areas of Jainta Pur, Sylhet, on Thursday, October 22, due to urgent maintenance, repair, and road development works. During this time, customers in the affected areas will be without power from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), Jainta Pur, announced this in a notice on Wednesday, October 21. According to the notice, power supply will remain shut off on Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM across the Tamabil, Changil, and Jaflong feeders under the Jaflong 11 kV line of the Jainta Pur substation.

Shahedur Rahman, Resident Engineer of Jainta Pur, stated that electricity supply along these feeders will be kept suspended for 9 straight hours to facilitate road development work. The Power Development Board authorities assured that power supply will be restored promptly upon the completion of repair and development activities. The authorities have expressed regret to consumers for the temporary power disruption.
